- Support Not the usual visualisation of Murmansk. --SHB2000 (talk) 23:33, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support Quite beautiful. Was the house actually that bright from the auroras? The only experience I've had in viewing auroras was in Lenox, Massachusetts, and they were not as vivid as this, which could be why they supplied much less light. They might have supplied enough light for some long shadows, but I don't remember, as it was 41 years ago! -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:38, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ikan Kekek: Murmansk Oblast is ≈26° further north than Massachusetts, so it's probably a lot more prominent here.r SHB2000 (talk) 08:48, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- This looks fine to me. Up here in the north, auroras can be seen despite moonlight and light pollution, as is evident by all the aurora photos I've taken in my town (Examples). You can even have a sunset and aurora at the same time! When the photo in this nomination was taken, there was a waxing crescent moon (if the time stamp is right), enough to get nice details on the building. Some of the best aurora shots are made with a bit of moonlight and snow. This photo from the north of Sweden was taken under about the same conditions. --Cart (talk) 11:23, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. The reason I haven't been sure is because I have the photos of the Milky Way with obviously earlier photos of the land on my mind. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:13, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guessed that was what was bugging you. :-) The difference between all these sky photos can be tricky if you haven't shot something like it yourself. The compo in this nom is nice even if the aurora itself is a bit "meh...". That's why I think it's best suited for a 'Places' gallery. For a 'Sky' gallery, I think Norwegian auroras are the best, like this. --Cart (talk) 15:24, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's a really beautiful aurora picture. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:59, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- I'm also enjoying your photos of auroras in your town, now that I'm having a chance to view them. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:48, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

Support Daniel Case (talk) 01:34, 4 August 2023 (UTC)- Comment I just changed the category to Natural phenomena, since the subject of the picture is the aurora borealis. 😄 ArionEstar 😜 22:24, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- Question Why do you disagree with Cart's comment above? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:11, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- It's ok, leave it be. I might be a bit blasé about auroras. If you haven't seen them as often as I have, they are probably a bigger thing than I realize. :-) --Cart (talk) 09:27, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- You're right. This is an impressive aurora to me, but then the aurora I saw in Massachusetts was impressive, too, because I had never seen one in person before (or since). And to those who haven't seen one, part of the amazing thing is that it changed color and streamed across the sky, then pooled in one part of the sky, and kept doing that for a couple of nights. I have no way of knowing whether auroras always do that or not. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:00, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
