Even after stranded people had been rescued, the authorities left thousands of animals to fend for themselves on isolated pockets in the mountains surrounded by deadly landslides or treacherous currents. These animals were raised by humans and did not know how to fend for themselves once the disaster struck. This picture was taken many days after the event, just showing how people had left these animals without any hope. Mules helped carry construction material and supplies to these regions and once the calamity stuck we just abandoned them.

•  Oppose Also, per Commons:NPOV and Commons:What Commons is not, please keep the description brief, neutral and to cover just what is in the picture and known to a neutral observer at the scene. Much as we sympathise with the disaster, Commons isn't a propaganda website for animal rescue, and animals aren't actually capable of "hope".
