- Comment impossible on commons. GIF images are to big, and won't be displayed correctly in articles. APNG is not commonly supported. Videos can't be looped currently. But if looping would be supported, it could be looped, since the animation (even 5 loops long) can be looped. --Niabot (talk) 16:26, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

    - It has much less colors, which can is better suited for a GIF file. Since GIF only supports 256 colors, and the resolution is much higher, it will be a very large file.
