Consensual review edit

  •   Oppose These are very difficult conditions with no magical solutions. The problem here is not the sky but the detail (or lack of) in the main subject, which is much affected by entensive noise, including chrominance noise. Alvesgaspar 10:49, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  •   Oppose Strong overexposure, CA, not a QI to me, sorry --Poco a poco 18:04, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
CommentI've recovered some highlight detail. It's not possible to avoid all blown out highlights when shooting a strongly backlit scene. The level of chromatic aberrations is minimal. Dllu 18:43, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
I why do you have to shoot a strongtly backlit scene? you could choose a different time or angle. The overexposure is much better now, but the strong CA is still there Poco a poco 11:40, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Comment I've further reduced the amount of chromatic aberrations. The lighting is intentional. I believe this is the best way to capture the mood of the scene. The quality of light filtering through the leaves is what makes this photo special, and this would be ruined if the light were shining at any other angle. The 1300 other Carnegie Mellon students who liked my photo on Facebook, which represents 10% of the entire student population at the school, seem to agree. Dllu 14:45, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Comment @Dllu: There is probably a misunderstanding: Not every great picture is a picture that is possible to work here at QIC. The more you are on the artistic and overtly creative side and play with the technical opportunities, the tougher it gets. QIC is extremely focussed on technical perfection and super modest on creativity. Your image might fail here, but for sure it is working perfectly in a different context. •   Oppose @Dllu. You really mean, that Facebook-Likes are a criterion for good pictures? While looking at this with the smartphone panel? I think, that on one hand this picture looks spectacular (IMO overexposed and critical CAs), on the other hand it´s always the question here: how can you manage a situation like this. And this picture has some faults. --Hubertl 19:44, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
  •   Oppose CA is quite strong everywhere. Really a nice picture, but not a QI according to our guidelines. Sorry. --Code 16:08, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
