Scope | Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope: Morpho helenor peleides (Common morpho) dorsal |

Reason | There is a category Morpho peleides as well as a Wikipedia article. The balance of experts retain this butterfly as a subspecies Morpho helenor peleides. Most of the many images in the Morpho peleides category are farmed aniamls (therefore indeterminate subspecies) plus a few from Belize. None are from Panama/Columbia, the only countries where Morpho helenor peleides occurs naturally. It is statistically possible that some of the captive-bred animals are Morpho helenor peleides. -- Charles (talk) |

Comment Perfectly agree with the reasoning. But this poor butterfly has suffered a lot in his life, on the other hand if you have named this picture is that you have no other.--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 15:59, 30 May 2019 (UTC) Comment I think it's only the old ones who stop to talk!
