  •  Question - How do you feel about instead calling these basalt columns, which I believe is the technical name for them? Sure, it was originally a lava stream, but now, one of the remarkable things about it is that it's divided into mostly hexagonal shapes in this area, and many of them look like they could be paving stones. (Other areas of the Giant's Causeway, for example as shown in the foregrounds of this photo and this one, have more jagged stones in irregular shapes, but they were also part of a lava stream.) -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:03, 28 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
