Reason	Since the firs dwelling (early XVth century) this castle belonged to different aristocratic families, each of them adding a part to the original house (towers, outhouses, chapel). The gardens have been attributed to Le Nôtre. In 1870 the roof was redesigned according to Viollet-le-Duc architectural principles. Nowadays a museum of the Order of Malta is housed here, some of the first owners having been Knights of Malta. -- JLPC (talk)
