Participants
- Anyone can willingly participate in this contest.
- To paticipate, you should be logged in to Wikimedia Commons either as local user or with Wikimedia global account. You can find out how to create an account on Wikimedia Commons here.
- Participant should have an activated e-mail address via preferences of their account[1]. Participants with no contact information (e-mail in account or contact data on a user page) will be not able to receive prizes nor to go to the international round even if jury will find their photo good enough. If you activated your e-mail address properly, «Email this user» link will appear at the left side of your user page. Note that your e-mail address will not be published anywhere and all emails can be sent to you only through Wikimedia mailing form without showing your address to sender.
- All participants are agreeing to publish their photographs under a free licence, for example Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 or any other compatible with Wikimedia Commons rules.
Pictures
- Photos can be taken at any time, but should be uploaded between October 1, 00:00 and October 31, 23:59 (UTC+5).
- One person can upload any number of photos, but all of photos should be uploader's own work. Do not upload photographs that you haven't made by yourself even if it's free of any copyrights or you are author's legal representative.
- Photos should have license template on a file page (usually it's added automatically if the uploader have chosen one in the first step of a upload). Photos without license on a file page are not accepted.
- Photos uploaded to a contest must be related to one of the cultural heritage monuments of Uzbekistan from the current list; current list is presented in Uzbek.
- Topic of the photo must be related to cultural heritage, such as buildings and their architecture elements or interiors, sculptures or historical landscapes. Photographs of the people, nature, cars if they are not the part of a cultural heritage monument are mostly considered as off-topic.
- Photos should include coordinates[2].
- Photo should be in a good quality, with proper contrast, white balance and exposition settings and be at least 2 Megapixels [3]. Low-quality (blurred, over-contrasted, distorted etc.), low-resolution pictures can be uploaded, but they have no chance of winning nor going to international round.
- Uploaded photos should be useful for illustrating articles in Wikipedia, so pictures with watermarks, on-picture dates or any other additions, that makes illustrative usage difficult, are not allowed.
Summarising
- After the end of the contest, in compliance with international contest rules jury will choose up to 15 photographs.
- All photographs will be judged in 2 stages: in the first stage jury will check all photos for compliance with the rules, and in the second stage those that comply will be judged on quality, relevance to the topic and representativeness for exact nature monument.
- All jury decisions are final and not a subject to appeal. Remember, that our choice can be subjective a little and if your pictures haven't won — don't be upset! All good pictures will become illustrations in Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects, so that hundreds or even thousands of people will see them. Isn't it awesome itself?
- Prizes will be gifted by the Ministry of natural resourses. Also all winners will get gift sertificates of Asaxiy, Amazon or other shops of their choice.
- All pictures chosen by jury will participate in international round where they also have a chance to win.
Other conditions
- Text of this rules is not a public offer according to Articles 367—369 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- Participating in the contest means full agreement with this rules.
- The organizing team may change these rules in order to maintain the principle of fair play.
- All expenses incurred by participants during participation in the contest are held by participants themselves.
- Photos uploaded by members of organizing team or their affiliates can not claim any prizes. Their possible participation can be only reasoned in supporting participants and setting a good example.
- Organizing team is not responsible for third party copyright violations by participants, but undertakes to take measures to eliminate such violations if they are detected. If you think that your or someone's copyright is violated, please, contact us!
- The organizers of the contest are released from liability for non-fulfillment or improper fulfillment of obligations if the impossibility of fulfilling them was the result of force majeure circumstances, such as fire, floods, other natural disasters, wars, armed conflicts, mass civil unrest, epidemics, terrorist acts, etc.
