Campaign name standard
editHello there! I've dealt with the campaign for Kosovo and Albania. If you check the list you'll see that the campaigns differ in their format from the other countries. Do I need to change them? Also, shouldn't all campaigns have the year as part of them (2023 in this case)? Else how will we be able to create another campaign for any country following the same format the next year? - Klein Muçi (talk) 23:29, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Romaine, thank you for helping in this! I didn't know we used an unified campaign for each year per state. Is that intended? Wouldn't it be better for statistical purposes to have new campaigns every year for each country so only the photos of that year are counted there? As a matter of fact, why are we suggested to discuss in the talk page of the past year (2022) the problems of this year (2023)?
Also can you delete the old campaigns I had created since we're not using them?
PS: On a completely random note, please take a look at the list of the protected areas of Guinea as currently it is the only redlinked list. That country together with Central Africa are also the only countries not using the English name if I'm not wrong. — Klein Muçi (talk) 01:26, 30 June 2023 (UTC)- Hi Klein Muçi, Thanks for reaching out and for pointing at the wrong link, this should of course point to the 2023 talk page. I just fixed it. The statistics are not based on the campaign, but on the format of the category name. In your case it are Category:Images from Wiki Loves Earth 2023 in Albania and Category:Images from Wiki Loves Earth 2023 in Kosovo. Now it should work. I also noticed that you want also a category of the uploaded images from both countries combined, which is here: Category:Images from Wiki Loves Earth 2023 in Albania & Kosovo. Image categories like these to indicate the image was uploaded as part of a photo contest should not be added manually to the file pages, but should be added by the contest template (template added by campaign). The contest template will add both the category for the country as well as the combined category for Albania and Kosovo. The category names are very strict for the statistics, the names for the landing page is more flexible. Also the name for the landing page of Albania-Kosovo is not what we normally wish it to be (word order), but is not important. I will check the other things you mention later today, now I am at work. - Actually @Ritamaliqi is working on a new banner we were thinking to use locally for WLE as we didn't know there was going to be a global notice about it. We can modify that one and use that for this occasion. Hopefully we'll have it ready by tomorrow. — Klein Muçi (talk) 22:43, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Klein Muçi, I encounter a problem. In previous years I could select Kosovo as country to show the banner, but Kosovo is not in the list anymore. I remember from earlier years that it was already a bit difficult anyway. Your proposal to add "Kosovo" to the banner text is a good idea. Can you modify the Albanian text? Change of WLE campaign end date in Senegal
