Description
English: Wolfgang Mattheuer, "Der Jahrhundertschritt" (Step of Century), 1984.

It is his best known work and an allegory for the 20-th century, showing the inner conflict of the last centuary: nazism and communism. However, for the artist it was also hope for a better future.

This is the Berlin copy at Budapeststrasse.

Other copies in Bonn, Leipzig, Halle, Oberhausen.
