How come every rag that originates anywhere near Cincinnati turns out to be "a good rag"? This obscure rag from nearby Newport, Kentucky is no exception. Published by Tropwen Music Co. in Newport in 1911. It's the only findable work by musician Henry William Gaul, who lived from 1895 to 1947 and is buried in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Original score source was from Walter Cosand at this link (copy/paste entire URL if needed): http://waltercosand.com/CosandScores/Composers%20E-K/Gaul , %20Henry%20W/Gaul-Motor_Boat_Rag.pdf

This is a reproduction of the original score with a few amendments. Added repeat bars to the Trio (because it's a nice trio); changed the note durations at measures 13 and 46 so they make sense; added various missing accidentals in the B and C strains, most notably to all the Bs in measure 60; deleted the left-hand Es in measure 68.
