Anmerkninger til bildet var: Sommeren 1928 ble det satt i gang en leteaksjon etter Roald Amundsen og de andre medlemmene av på flybåten "Latham 47". Dampskipet "Hobby", ishavsdampskipet "Heimland", fiskerioppsynsskipet "Michael Sars", panserskipet "Tordenskjold", krysseren "Strassbourg" og fiskeoppsynsskipet"Quentin Roosevelt" ble sendt langs den vestlige rute. Ishavsskuta "Veslekari", under ishavsskipper Johan Olsen ble sendt langs den østlige rute. "Veslekari"-ekspedisjonen ble finansiert med bidrag fra det norske folk. |

This is according to § 23 in the Norwegian Åndsverkloven. Under the former photo law, protection ended 25 years after creation, provided that more than 15 years had passed since the photographer's death or the photographer is unknown.
