Description
Ångfartyget INDUS levererades från varvet J. Coughlan & Sons Ld i Vancouver till Svenska Ostasiatiska kompaniet i juli 1920. Den 21 december 1921 utbröt en brand i lasten när fartyget låg i Valencia, Spanien. Branden berodde på slarv från en besättningsman. I ett försök att släcka elden sköts 40-50 kanonskott mot fartyget, med målet att sänka fartyget och på så vis släcka branden. Resultatet blev att fartyget sjönk med däcket i vattenlinjen. Bilden är sannolikt tagen 21 december eller dagarna därefter.
