Nákó-Berg House. One-story, eclectic corner house with a small courtyard. Its ground floor part(?) was built in the 18th century using the remains of the destroyed medieval house. Rebuilt in 1873 for dr. István Melczer de kellemesi, lawyer, royal personality and member of the House of Magnates‎ (Parliament). Architects: György Preisz and Henrich Kirchenbaum. In 1927 sold to baron, Lieutenant Colonel Tibor Berg. The under WW2 seriusly damaged building restored in 1948, architect: József Csemegi. Renovated in 1959 based on the plans of Ferenc Kacziba (KÖZTI), 1984-1985 Kánon architectural company. The Berg family settled in Kapuvár in 1864, where Baron Gusztáv Berg, who was born on the territory of the Kingdom of Prussia, established a model farm. His grandson was Tibor Berg (1898-1987), who survived World War I as an artilleryman, and his first wife was Berta Nákó of Greek descent, daughter of Count Sándor Nákó, governor of Fiume. Tibor Berg had relatives in Sweden. From the 1930s (from 1928?) several Swedish politicians and statesmen visited the building. Among them was The Swedish Crown Prince Gustav Adolf, who died in a plane crash in 1930. Raoul Wallenberg held his first working lunch here. Wallenberg took the house under diplomatic protection. Wallenberg's secretary was Count Erzsébet Nákó, a sister of Berta Nákó. The sign indicating diplomatic immunity that was once on the façade of the house will be located in the hallway in 2022. From the courtyard opened a Turkish-era rock cellar where in the 1940s Jewish persecutors were hidden with money and documents for escape. Miklós Horthy de Nagybánya's family doctor, Professor of Surgery Lajos Ádám and Albert Szent-Györgyi were also hidden there.- A famous guest of the house was the British writer, traveller, soldier Sir Patrick Michael Leigh Fermor DSO OBE, who crossed Europe on foot in 1934 and wrote his youthful journey decades later. - Thanks to Raoul Wallenberg and his secretary, the Countess of Greek descent, Elisabeth Nákó, and the homeowner Berg family, many Jewish persecutors also found refuge here in the 1940s. On the façade is a plaque commemorating 'the Rescuers of People' (aka: In memory of the Nákó and Berg families and Raoul Wallenberg) (Inauguration 2021, Tímea Fábry work, erected by the Greek Institute, bronze hand/palm copper heart, marble Greek-Hungarian inscription, plaque to Holocaust) Text on it: ~'As an eternal remembrance to the Nákó and Berg families that helped Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg in his rescue activities during World War 2' - Part of the Budapest World Heritage protected architectural ensembles - 15 Úri Street, Várnegyed neighborhood, District I of Budapest.

Mintás lépcsőházi kőpadló és szekrény. Zártsorú beépítésű, egyemeletes, eklektikus sarokház kis udvarral. Elpusztult középkori ház maradványainak felhasználásaval a 18. században épült. 1873-ban átépítve kellemesi dr. Melczer István jogász, királyi személynök, főrendiházi tag számára: Építészek: Preisz György és Kirchenbaum Henrich /ők tervezték Klauzál tér 2 és Pipa utca 6 is/. A második világháborúban sarokrésze leomlott a helyreállítás Csemegi József tervei alapján báró Berg Tibor alezredes részére történt(?), 1948 (1927-ben vette az épületet). A Berg-család 1864-ben települt Kapuvárra ahol a Porosz Királyság területén születtt báró Berg Gusztáv mintagazdaságot hozott létre. Unokája volt Berg Tibor /1898-1987/ aki az I. világháborút tüzérként hacolta végig és az első felesége volt a görög származású Nákó Berta a Nagyszentmiklósi gróf Nákó Sándor fiumei kormányzó lánya. 1926-ban Berg Tibor 25 nap altt ellovagolt Konstantinápolyba ami a magyar lovasport kiemelkedő eseménye volt. Berg Tibornak rokonai voltak Svédországban. Az 1930-as (1928-tó?) évektől több svéd politikus és államférfi is megfordult az épületben. Közte az 1930-ban repülőgépszerencsétlenségben elhunyt Gusztáv Adolf svéd koronaherceg. Raoul Wallenberg itt tartotta első munkaebédjét. A házat diplomáciai védelem alá vette. Wallenberg titkárnője gróf Nákó Erzsébet, Nákó Berta volt. Az egykor a ház homlokzatán lévő diplomáciai védettséget jelző tábla 2022-ben a folyosón található) Felújítások: 1959 Kacziba Ferenc (KÖZTI), 1984-1985 KÁNON építészeti társaság tervei alapján történt. A homlokzaton Embermentők emléktáblája /másnéven: A Nákó- és Berg-család, valamint Raoul Wallenberg emlékére/ (Avatás 2021, Fábry Tímea, Görög Intézet bronz kézben/tenyérben réz szív, márvány görög.magyar feliratos tábla holokauszt) Örök emlékül a Nákó- és Berg családoknak amelyek e ház falai közöttt segítették Raoul Wallenberg svéd diplomatát a 2. világháború alatti embermentő tevékenységében. Az udvarból nyílt a török kori szikla pince ahol az üldözötteket a menekítéshez szükséges pénzt és az iratokat rejtették. Itt bujtatták Horthy Miklós háziorvosát Ádám Lajos Sebészprofesszort és Szent-Györgyi Albertet is. Berg Tibor a második világháborúban szovjet hadifogságba esett. Berg Tibor második felesége Hegedűs Theódora Hegedűs László festőművész lánya volt. 1956-ban a család az USA-ba emigrált. Berg Gloria Berg Tibor lánya az 1990-es években tért vissza Magyarországra. A házban több Hegedűs festmény látható. - 'Budapest100 2022' alatt fotókiállítás a ház képeiből valamint Raoul Wallenberg, és a brit író, utazó, 'útirajz-szerző', katona Patrick Leigh Fermor (1915-2011),-aki 1934-ben a Berg-család vendége volt,- kiállítás volt az udvaron. Megj. Fermor könyve a 'Erdők s vízek közt Esztergomtól Brassóig' számos kiadásban jelent meg a angol amerikai olvasók jelentős része ez alapján képzeli? (képzelte) el Magyarországot és Erdélyt.
