中文：恆發陶瓷廠
恆發陶瓷廠，今為竹南蛇窯，位於苗栗縣竹南鎮公館里7鄰大埔頂7號。創立之初，為大甲東陶師林添福於民國61（1972）年帶了九名師父和一頭牛，用了三千塊土磚搭出長達二十五公尺的竹南蛇窯，生產傳統花盆。正值台灣經濟逐漸發展，生活條件日益豐足，人們對於生活品質的提升開始注重，興起養蘭種花的風氣，為了因應這股熱潮，花盆的需求量與品質隨之提高，窯廠生產的器物也以花盆為主，不同於苗栗、公館地區的金斗甕、水缸、酒甕。 但僅十年光景，大型現代化陶瓷工廠相繼興起，傳統陶廠難以匹敵，窯廠二十多名工人都走了，只剩林添福和次子林瑞華堅守竹南蛇窯，1994年蛇窯配合台灣省陶藝協會舉辦了「重燃古窯柴燒活動」，不但重新升火，同時燃起了林家對傳統蛇窯的新契機，之後正式更名為「竹南蛇窯」，並且定位於陶藝創作與文化傳承，成為苗栗柴燒陶藝重鎮。 |
