הערות: רחובות הוקמה בימי העלייה הראשונה ב1890 כמושבה של עולים מפולין שהשתייכו לקבוצת מנוחה ונחלה במטרה להקים יישוב יהודי שלא יהיה תלוי בכספי הברון רוטשילד. ניטעו כרמי ענבי יין שנמכרו ליקב ראשון לציון. ב1904 ניטע במושבה הפרדס הראשון על ידי זלמן מינקוב. ב1907 הגיעו למושבה עולים ראשונים מתימן שנקלטו בזכות יכולתם לעבוד בחקלאות כפועלים שכירים.סייע אפרים זקס, ברכישת חלקת אדמה, שעליה הקימו ב1909 את בתיהם הראשונים ובהמשך התפתחה לשכונת שעריים ועוד שכונות נוספות "שכונת התימנים" ו"כפר מרמורק".
