Description: The Eshet Reservoir is a large water reservoir in the bed of the Arava River, located near the settlement of Paran. The reservoir was built by KKL-Junk (probably in the mid-1980s), and is dedicated to the American organization Hadassa

תיאור: מאגר עשת הינו מאגר מים גדול באפיק נחל הערבה, הנמצא בקרבת היישוב פארן.המאגר הוקם בידי קק"ל (כנראה באמצע שנות ה-80'), ומוקדש לארגון הנשים האמריקאי"הדסה" שתרם כספים להקמתו. בדופן הצפונית של המאגר יש סכר גדול, ונקודות המאפשרות שחרור עודפי מים
הערות: המים במאגר מגיעים מערוץ נחל הערבה. הערוץ העיקרי באזור זה הוא נחל חיון, שראשיתו בבקעת עובדה והוא מנקז חלקים גדולים מדרום הנגב. עם חציית כביש 90, משנה הנחל את שמו לנחל הערבה, ומצטרפים אליו נחל חמדה ונחל מנוחה כמו גם מספר ערוצי נחלים היורדים מהרי אדום שבירדן. ממדי המאגר משתנים בהתאם לעוצמת השטפונות והזמן שחלף מאז השטפונות, אך בשטפונות רציניים, המאגר יכול להגיע לאורך של למעלה מק"מ, רוחב מרבי של כ- 200 מ' ושטח של יותר מ- 100 דונם.(INATURE)
