Name: Metzadit
Description: The fortress was built next to the Ashdod Yam citadel, as part of a system of defensive fortifications along the southern coastal plain built by the Arabs (as in Ashkelon and Yavne-Yam), and was composed of ribats (citadels and citadels) and haras'im (towers) to signal the district capital Ramla and warn against invasion by ships Byzantium.
