Description: The house at 1A Hashan Street was used as Menachem Begin's hiding place in the years 1946-1944. Begin, who was the commander of the Etzal, was at the top of the wanted list of both the British Bureau of Investigation and the Haganah.

שם: ביתו של מנחם בגין בתל אביב
תיאור: הבית ברחוב הבשן 1א שימש כדירת המסתור של מנחם בגין בשנים 1944-1946. בגין שהיה מפקד האצ"ל, היה בראש רשימת המבוקשים הן של הבולשת הבריטית והן של ה'הגנה'.
הערות: איתו התגוררו כאן אשתו עליזה, בני הבן וקצין המבצעים של האצ"ל איתן לבני (מי שעתיד להיות אבא של ציפי). בחצר הבית נחפר בונקר, בו הסתתר כאשר הבריטים ערכו בסביבה חיפושים. את זמנם העבירו שני המפקדים במשחקי שחמט, ומהבית היה יוצא רק לתפילות בבית הכנסת הסמוך - בית כנסת שלום היכל יצחק - כאשר הוא מחופש לרב בשם ישראל ססובר. בבית זה התקיימו פגישות וישיבות של בכירי האצ"ל ומכאן שלח הוראות על פעולות הארגון. מכאן הורה על פיצוץ מלון המלך דוד.
