Name: Al Omari Mosque - Ramla
Description: The Great Mosque in Ramla is one of the only Crusader buildings in Israel that have survived almost intact and the largest of them. The building was built in the middle of the 12th century as a Christian church, and the titles found in the mosque do correspond to the 12th century. After the Mamluk conquest in the 13th century, the building was converted into a mosque with a minaret

תיאור: המסגד הגדול ברמלה הנו אחד המבנים הצלבניים היחידים בארץ ששרדו כמעט בשלמותם והגדול שבהם. המבנה הוקם באמצע המאה ה-12 ככנסייה נוצרית, והכותרות המצויות במסגד אכן מתאימות למאה ה-12. לאחר הכיבוש הממלוכי במאה ה-13 הוסב המבנה למסגד עם צריח
הערות: בכניסה לסמגד שתי כתובת בערבית, משמאל כתובת מקורית משנת 1298 במספרת על שיפוץ המסגד קרי כבר מסגד בשנה זו ואילו הכתובת שמימין לפתח הכניסה, משנת 1268 ומפארת את הסולטאן ההמלוכי ביברס שכבש (והרס את יפו) ושיפץ מסגד "זה" כשהכוונה למסגד הלבן ברמלה שכן כתובת זו במקורה נצפתה במהלך המאה ה-19 במסגד הלבן. הכתובת הועתקה מאוחר יותר לכאן.
