Description
English: 1926 Rolls-Royce 20 HP with Barker 3/4 Cabriolet de Ville coachwork, chassis number GYK 85 and engine number G1898. Here seen at Durlston Country Park near Swanage at a Wedding Ceremony. Ex-India car, supplied new to its first lady owner Mrs Gala David Gubbay of Calcutta (a member of that city's small but significant Jewish community) via Rolls-Royce's office in Bombay. Recorded as having been collected directly from Rolls-Royce's London (Lillie Hall) outlet by Mrs. Gubbay herself. It remained in India until about 1967, when it was sold to the Louwman collection in the Netherlands. In 1995 it returned to the UK, where it was given the registration YH 6902. Sold to New Zealand in circa 2014, where it received the license plate 1926RR.
