Description

The Alfa Romeo 6C name was used on road, race, and sports cars produced between 1927 and 1954, 6C referring to its 6 cyl engine. The first was the 1927-29 6C 1500 (1487cc supercharged) Next was the 1929-33 6C 1750 (1752cc supercharged), available in single overhead cam base model, Super Sport and Grand Sport versions had double overhead cam. Most of the cars were sold as rolling chassis and bodied by coachbuilders such as Zagato, and Touring. 1933 saw the 6C 1900 (1917cc), 1934 2300 (2309cc), 1938 the 6C 2500 (2443cc) and 1948, the 6C 3000 (2955cc)

This Zagato bodied 1750GS features aluminium spider bodywork with a disappearing top, 257 were produced. It resided in the UK until after World war II, before finding a home in New Zealand.
