"1935 Standard Motor Co. Ltd. Sixteen"
"The Standard Company was well known for its small cars. This larger model, the Sixteen, was fairly short-lived, being superseded by the Flying Standards. The founder of Jaguar Cars, William Lyons, used the chassis of the Sixteen, albeit highly modified, for his first production model. An example of that car, the SS 1, is also on display in the Museum. This particular car is in good condition, having been restored in the Museum’s workshops. It was generously donated to the Collection by Mr. D. Craddock of Coventry in 1963."
