The 1937 Ford got a more rounded body and now fine horizontal bars in the V shaped grille and a V shaped windscreen. The tear drop headlamps, integrated into the front fenders, copied from its cousin, the Lincoln Zephyr, was a modernization found on the Ford before most of the rival brands. In 1938 The Ford Motor Co. adopted a new market plan for their vehicles. 1938 Standard automobiles carried the same basic front body style used on the 1937 Ford while the Deluxe body styles were given a substantially revised appearance, a new heart shaped grille/hood. The 38 Ford was available in 3 models; The Model 82A Standard with 136 cu in V8; 5 window coupe, Tudor, Sedan and Wagon. The Model 81A Standard with 221 cu in V8; 5 window coupe, Tudor or Sedan And the Model 81A Deluxe with 221 cu in V8 (heart shaped grille) 5 window coupe, Club Coupe, Tudor, Sedan, Woody Wagon, Convertible Sedan and Convertible Coupe.
