Description

The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac.

The unique to Buick, 'Ventiports' were introduced in 1949, four on the top Roadmaster and three on the other models.

Buicks got a new larger body in 1954, they were roomier inside and featured a panoramic windshield and blunt tail fins. In 1954, the Series 60 Century returned, the 54 model had the 'sad mouth' looking grille with vertical bars. The 1955 grille was a mesh and more oval in shape The grille surround in 1956 was squared up and the grille with fine horizontal bars came to a V in the centre. (Vertical bars in 57) The 1956 122 inch wheelbase Series 40 Special, with 220hp 322 cu in, was available in 2 or 4 door Sedan, Convertible, Wagon and 2 or 4 door Riviera Hardtop. The 127 inch wheelbase Series 50 Super, 255hp 322 cu in, available in 4 door Sedan, Convertible and 2 or 4 door Riviera Hardtop The 122 inch wheelbase Series 60 Century, 255hp 322 cu in, available in Convertible, 4 door Sedan, Wagon and 2 or 4 door Riviera Hardtop.
