The 1955 Pillared Starlight Coupe and the Commander Hardtop Coupe got a new name in 1956, the Studebaker Hawk. In 1956, the Pillared Coupes were the 6 cyl Flight Hawk and the V8 Power Hawk. Hardtop Coupes were the 6 cyl Sky Hawk and the V8 Golden Hawk. For 1957, the pillared Flight and Power Hawks were replaced by the pillared Silver Hawk (6 cyl or V8), Sky and Golden Hawk Hardtops still available. From 1958 on, the openings below the headlights got egg crate style grilles, to match the radiator grille. For 1959, the only Hawk available was the Silver Hawk, Silver Hawk script now on the rear tail fin, parkers moved into the side grilles. In 1960 they were called just the Studebaker Hawk. 1961 Hawks got a coloured stripe on the rear fins. The shape changed in 1962, now called the Gran Turismo Hawk, the fins were gone, and it got thick C pillars. Updates in 1963 and 64 when the Hawk was discontinued.
