Description

Rangoon Red. The fourth generation Thunderbirds were built from 1964-66, nicknamed the 'Jet Birds', although pretty much unchanged underneath, the shape was restyled with a more squared off sharp look. Dual headlights, a low-placed sweeping grille with horizontal bars stretching from end to end, deeply sculptured sides were new as were the large rectangular taillights replacing the round ones of the third generation. The 64 Thunderbird was the only Thunderbird to have the word 'Thunderbird' on the front hood instead of the image of the Thunderbird. The interior of the 1964 Thunderbird was truly space age, with chrome and aluminium accents, jet-inspired instrument panel, slim-line front bucket seats and wrap around rear seating . Available as a Hardtop (Standard or Landau) or Convertible and Landau (vinyl roof and simulated S-bars on the rear pillars).
