Description

The Car with the inline 1.5 or 1.6 4 cyl engine was the Capella and the car with the Rotary engine was the Capella Rotary in Japan and the RX2 for export. These first generation Capellas were built from 1970-78 The first models all had rectangular headlights, while the rotary-engined models received round twin headlamps beginning in October 1971. From 1972 all models received the double headlamps. In 1974 a facelift saw a restyled front end and restyled dashboard. Replaced in 1978 by the 626
