Deutsch: 10.07.1985 DDR 5900 [99817] Eisenach: Die Wartburg, 411 m ü. NHN gelegen, wurde um 1067 von Ludwig dem Springer erbaut. Wie kaum eine andere Burg Deutschlands ist die Wartburg mit der Geschichte Deutschlands verbunden. Landgraf Ludwig II. (reg. 1140-1172) war der wichtigste Bauherr der Ludowinger. Unter seiner Leitung entstand ca. 1156-1162 der wertvolle Palas (GMP: 50.965780,10.306830). Die heutige Burg ist größtenteils im 19. Jahrhundert unter Einbeziehung weniger erhaltener Teile neu gebaut worden. Ihr heutiges Erscheinungsbild geht auf den Großherzog Carl Alexander von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach zurück.
