Description
Deutsch: 11.07.1985 DDR 6115 [98660] Themar: Stadtkirche St. Bartholomäus (GMP: 50.502300,10.614496): Spätgotischer Saalbau mit polygonalem Chor und Turm im Winkel vom Chor und Schiff, entstand seit 1488. 1502 war die spätgotische Hallenkirche mitsamt ihrem Chor vollendet, wurde aber im 16. u. 18. Jahrhundert umgestaltet. Restauration 1963/1965. Netzgewölbe des Chores mit spätmittelaterlichen Ausmalungen. Auf dem Kirchturm wohnte bis Mitte der 1950er Jahre die Türmerfamilie Rust. Es sind dort immer noch die drei Stuben und die Seilwinde zu sehen, mit der Lebensmittel, Wasser und Kohlen außen am Kirchturm in die Türmerwohnung gezogen wurden.
