Description
Deutsch: 19.03.1986 DDR 5300 [99423] Weimar: Platz der Demokratie 1. Grünes Schloß (GMP: 50.978536,11.332107). Heute Herzogin-Anna-Amalia-Bibliothek (HAAB) mit über 800 000 Titeln. Zentralbibliothek der deutschen Klassik. Im Kern Renaissancebau (1562-1569). Fassade ursprünglich grün bemalt. 1691 wurde sie als "Herzogliche Bibliothek" von Herzog Wilhelm Ernst in Weimar gegründet. 1761-1766 unter Herzogin Anna Amalia, von F. Straßburger zur Bibliothek umgestaltet. Unter Leitung von Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray wurde zwischen 1821 und 1825 der angrenzende Turmbau zum Bibliotheksturm umgebaut und um einen Stock erhöht. 1849, an Goethes 100. Geburtstag, der in der Bibliothek gefeiert wurde, erhielt das Gebäude durch einen Anbau im Norden, von Coudray ausgeführt, seine heutige Dimension. Ansicht Parkseite.
