The NL Fairlane was built from Sept 1996- Feb 1999 The NL Fairlane used the same front panels as the EL Fairmont, the NL was again built on the longer wagon platform, the front and centre remained the same but it got a longer tail, the rear seat moved back for more leg room. A facelift on the previous NF Fairlane, styling changes on the new NL were minimal, just a slightly finer grille and new alloy wheels. The Fairlane Ghia got a chrome grille surround, 15 inch alloys and fog lights. The new interior got lashings of chrome and woodgrain, seats were trimmed in velour, 8 speaker sound system with CD player, climate control, cruise control, central locking, power windows and mirrors and a trip computer . The Sportsman was dropped but new upmarket Concorde was available. It got gold alloys, gold pinstripe and leather interior, only 500 were built in Green, Burgundy or Blue. 107 Tickford Fairlanes were built, they got 195kw V8, 17in alloys, Momo wheel and wire mesh grille The more luxurious DL LTD kept its trademark chrome vertical bar grille and rear louvres on C pillar windows, it also got a leather interior and chrome wheels.
