Deutsch: 21.04.2002 01809 Weesenstein (Müglitztal) Am Schloßberg 1: Schloß Wesenstein (GMP: 50.932966,13.858732), weiträumiger Gebäudekomplex aus dem 14. bis 19. Jahrhundert auf einem Felsen über der Müglitz. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung des Schlosses datiert auf den 17. Dezember 1318 im Zusammenhang mit dem Hilfe- und Dienstgelöbnis des Burggrafen Otto von Dohna gegenüber dem Meißner Markgrafen Friedrich dem Freidigen. Als Lehen und Lohn für die Unterstützung während der Dohnaschen Fehde hatte es 1406 Günther von Bünau vom Markgrafen erhalten. Bis 1772 blieben die Bünaus die Herren auf Weesenstein. Es folgten die von Uckermann, dann 1830 das sächsische Königshaus (König Anton von Sachsen, danach Johann von Sachsen, des Ersteren Neffe, danach Prinz Johann Georg). 1917 wurde Schloß Weesenstein an bürgerliche Besitzer verkauft (Alwin Bauer), kam dann 1933 an den Landesverein Sächsischer Heimatschutz, dann an die Gemeinde, nach der Wende schließlich an das Land Sachsen, das im Schloß ein Museum unterhält.
