Description

Deutsch: 04.05.2004 06571 Wiehe (Roßleben-Wiehe), Buttstädter Straße 10: Schloß (GMP: 51.262966,11.413405). 786 wurde Wiehe erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Ort und Burg wurden 933 Reichsbesitz, blieben es rund 100 Jahre und wurden 1050 als Lehen an die Grafen von Kävernburg übergeben. Die im 10. Jahrhundert errichtete Reichsburg gehörte - wie die Pfalz Memleben - zum Nordthüringer Reichsgut. Nach dem Großbrand von 1659 veranlasste Freiherr Wolf Adolf von Werthern 1664 den Neubau im späten Renaissancestil, der 1666 seinen Abschluß fand. Renoviert 1729 und 1858-1859. Nach 1945 wurde die Familie von Werthern durch die Bodenreform enteignet. Das Schloß wurde ab 1946 als Schule eingerichtet. Später wurde das VEG Memleben Rechtsträger. Nach der politischen Wende in der DDR übernahm die Stadt die Initiative. Ein Förderverein engagiert sich um die Belange der Anlage. 2004 erneut in Sanierung.
