Description
Deutsch: 02.05.2005 04827 Machern, Schloßplatz: Das Schloß (GMP: 51.361090,12.631219) ist aus einer Wasserburg (16. Jh.) hervorgegangen und wurde vielseitig umgebaut. 1566 errichtete Wolf von Lindenau ein Renaissanceschloß, bestehend aus rechtwinklig angeordneten Flügeln und einem im Winkel angeordneten Treppenturm. Die Räume im Erdgeschoß stattete man mit Kreuzgewölben aus. Im 18. Jahrhundert erfolgten größere Umbauten, bei denen das Schloß seine heutige Gestalt mit drei um einen Innenhof gelegten Flügeln erhielt. In der DDR-Zeit diente das Schloß gemeinnützigen Zwecken, war Kulturhaus mit Gaststätte sowie Gemeindeamt und Dorfschule. Auch Wohnungen waren im Haus. Heute ist hier u.a. auch das Standesamt.
