Deutsch: 21.04.2007 01824 Königstein (Sächsische Schweiz): Blick von Nordwesten (von Thürmsdorf) zur Festung Königstein (GMP: 50.919187,14.056767). "Auf dem Stein des Königs" unterzeichnete König Wenzel I. 1241 einen Grenzvertrag mit dem Bistum Meißen.
1406 kam die Herrschaft Königstein in wettinischen Besitz, nachdem Markgraf Wilhelm I. von Meißen die Burg erobert hatte. Erst seit 1955 darf jedermann die Festung besichtigen.
