Description
Deutsch: 21.06.2008 01069 Dresden, Wiener Platz: Hauptbahnhof Nordseite mit dem einstigen Königspavillon, später Zeitkino (GMP: 51.041289,13.731059). Erbaut wurde der Dresdner Hauptbahnhof von 1892 bis 1897 unter Leitung von Ernst Giese und Paul Weidner (Dresden) und Arwed Rossbach (Leipzig) an Stelle des abgebochenen Böhmischen Bahnhofs. Die Kombination von Kopf- und Durchgangsbahnhof galt damals als einzigartige Ingenieurleistung. In der Nacht zum 17. April 1898 wurde der Bau eingeweiht und von König Albert von Sachsen an seinem Geburtstag am 23.04.1998 eröffnet. Bis 1918 nutzte die Königsfamilie den Eingangspavillon (das spätere Zeitkino, Dez. 2000 geschlossen). 1945 wurde der Bahnhof schwer beschädigt und brannte aus. Am 13. Mai 1950 wurde Wiedereröffnung gefeiert. Im Sommer 1997 erhielt Sir Norman Foster den Planungsauftrag zum derzeitigen Umbau. Seit 2001 laufen die Arbeiten. [DSCN33154.TIF]20080621045DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
