Descolea antarctica Singer Image location: Grand Circuit, Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, Magallanes, Chile Found these three in some woody mulch; CP 2-3", orange-brown (as shown) fading to buff-tan when dry (defintely hygrophanous), very viscid, striate; GILLS ragged edge, nearly free; STIPE slightly bulbous, pale ner top to cap-colored near base, rather fragile, smooth; VEIL conspicuous, membranous, superior, skirt-like; SPORES golden to ochraceous (clear print visible on top of ring). Recognized by sight: The most common species of these in Chilean Nothofagus forests (whatever that is…). Used references: http://www.chilefungi.cl/album/desc_ant.htm
