Description
Deutsch: 06.04.2010 04746 Nauhain (Hartha): Kirche Nauhain, St.-Georgs-Kapelle (GMP: 51.12780,13.00767). Die Kapelle war ursprünglich Wallfahrtsort für die Mönche vom Kloster Buch. Bereits 1465 ist sie als Wallfahrts- und Feldkapelle" urkundlich erwähnt. Viermal im Jahr, an den Tagen des Heiligen Georg am 23. April, St. Maria Magdalena am 22. Juli, St. Michael am 29. September und St. Martin am 11. November gab es eine Wallfahrt, ursprünglich der Mönche des Klosters Buch und später auch vieler Fremder, zur Kapelle auf dem Nauhainer Sandberg. Ursprünglich war die Kapelle viel kleiner. Der jetzige Chorraum ist an den alten Kapellenbau angebaut worden. Anstelle eines Kirchenschiffs erhebt sich ein wuchtiger Turm, um den sich kleinere Anbauten gliedern. Aus den Bauformen ist zu erkennen, dass der Turm in der zweiten Hälfte des 12. Jahrhunderts errichtet wurde. Die Kapelle wurde 1980-1991 restauriert. Sicht von Südosten. [DSCN40867.TIF]20100406430DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
