Deutsch: 09.06.2012 02627 Gröditz (Weißenberg): Kirche (GMP: 51.207890,14.624331). Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung geht auf das Jahr 1222 zurück. Kunsthistorisch bedeutend für die Kirche ist ein romanisches Portal aus Granit, das heute den Eingang zur Sakristei bildet. Es stammt aus der Zeit um 1200 und wurde bei den zahlreichen Umbauten der Kirche immer wieder verwendet. Die unteren Mauern des Turmes stammen aus der Zeit, als er noch zu Verteidigungszwecken diente. Der achteckige barocke Aufbau und die Turmhaube entstanden um das Jahr 1775. Mit Ausnahme des Turmes wurde das heutige Kirchengebäude 1902 nach Plänen des Baumeisters Theodor Quentin aus Pirna errichtet. Am Bogen des Kirchenportals sowie am Altar finden sich sorbische Inschriften, die von der sorbischen Geschichte dieses Teils der Oberlausitz zeugen. [DSCNn4051.TIF]20120609305DR.JPG(c)Blobelt |
