English: PLAT-I 6.4 in-stream tidal energy platform for renewable tidal energy production, shown in operation at Westport Harbor, Brier Island, Nova Scotia, Canada on July 27, 2022. This floating, horizontal axis tidal turbine was built by Sustainable Marine Energy for this Grand Passage site and was able to supply power to the grid in Digby County, Nova Scotia. Unfortunately, the company subsequently went bankrupt in this trial effort. |
