Deutsch: Die Kinder des Herzogs Carl August von Sachsen-Weimar. Ölgemälde von Fr. A. Tischbein, 1795, Schloß Weimar. Carl Friedrich (1783-1853), der nachmalige Großherzog, Bernhard (1792-1862, der spätere niederländische General und Kommandeur in Java, und Caroline Luise (1786-1816), spätere Erbherzogin von Mecklenburg. Ihr widmete Goethe im Jahre 1807 das "Reise-, Zestreuungs- und Trostbüchlein" mit 88 Landschaften von seiner Hand und dichtete auf ihren frühen Tod das Logenlied: "An dem öden Strand des Lebens".
