| Description |
English: Saturday 21st December 2019 saw the last Up run of a full High Speed Train on the East Coast Mainline, as the UK Railtours special headed from Leeds to Kings Cross. Most of the day was gorgeous sunshine of course, but as the train approached Offord Cluny foot-crossing and the assembled "gallery" it just had to cloud over. Still a poignant moment for those of us old enough to remember the class 254s being introduced to the ECML. I actually saw this pair being built at Crewe during 1979 on the Crewe Campaigner railtour. How long will the Azumas that have replaced them last? |
