I'm not sure of the precise scope of this category. In particular:

Should it be used for aircraft on the tarmac at the airport?
For images taken in flight, how close to the airport belongs in this category? For example, look at https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?fulltext=Search&search=aerial+%22Joe+Mabel%22+%2217+April+2024%22&title=Special%3ASearch&ns0=1&ns6=1&ns9=1&ns12=1&ns14=1&ns100=1&ns106=1. Which of these belong in the category?

This category was created because there were lots of hard to categorise images of wings and clouds, or sea, or bits of countryside that were hard to identify, Categorised under "London" or "London Heathrow Airport" but were probably not taken within the Greater London area. As a bit of a Workaround there was no precise scope beyond what you might see if you were on an aircraft arriving or departing London. So potentially all the images you linked to could go in this category, so far it has been more a matter of an editors personal judgement. I am open to suggestions on how this category could be altered or other ways these awkward images could be delt with Oxyman (talk) 03:41, 28 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'll add these images, then, but I think either it should have clear criteria (whatever those may be) or be "demoted" to a maintenance category and used only for images that are not otherwise well categorized. - Jmabel ! talk 17:14, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
