Name: Caesarea National Park
Description: There are two hippodromes in Caesarea, one near the beach (pictured) and the other east of the city. Circus (hippodrome in Latin) - is a facility for horse racing. The hippodrome that was located along the seashore was built by King Herod. It was about 315 m long and about 64 m wide, the southern end was a circle and the north was a jumping gate

תיאור: בקיסריה שני היפודרומים, האחד סמוך לחוף הים(בתמונה) והשני ממזרח לעיר. קירקוס (היפודרום בלטינית) – הוא מיתקן למרוצי סוסים. ההיפודרום ששכן לאורך חוף הים ניבנה על ידי המלך הורדוס. אורכו היה כ-315 מ' ורחבו כ- 64 מ', הקצו הדרומי מעגל ובצפון שערי זינוק
הערות: קיסריה היא עיר נמל שהוקמה בשנים 13–25 לפנה"ס. העיר הייתה המרכז המנהלי הרומי ביהודה מאז כינון פרובינקיה יודיאה (לאחר הדחת ארכלאוס בשנת 6 לספירה). היא שמרה על מעמד זה ביהודה, ולאחר מכן בפרובינקיה סוריה-פלשתינה עד 390, ולאחריו בפרובינקיה הביזנטית פלשתינה פרימה. העיר נקראה על שם אוגוסטוס קיסר. כיום חלק משטח העיר העתיקה הוא גן לאומי בניהול רשות הטבע והגנים ביחד עם החברה לפיתוח קיסריה. בסמוך לעתיקות קיסריה, הוקמה במאה ה-20 קיסריה המודרנית.(ויקיפדיה)
