תיאור: תל המצודה האשורית במערב ראשון לציון
הערות: מבנה המצודה האשורית במערב ראשלצ מתוארך למאה ה-8 לפנה"ס. אין פרטים רבים עליה. המצודה התגלתה ב-1992 בעת חפירת בדיקה בתל. במהלך מחקר נערכו חפירות חלקיות באתר ששטחו כ-3.5 דונם. מרכז המצודה כוסה בגג פח נמוך המקשה את הגישה אליו. המבנה הריבועי בנוי מלבני טין מיובשות. הוא נחלק לתא מרכזי וסביבו 11 תאים מלבניים. כנראה ששימשו כיסודות למבנה שהיה בנוי מעליהם. בצידו הדרומי והדרום-מזרחי של המבנה התגלו שרידים מעטים של מבני עזר או שירות העשויים מכורכר. נמצאו קנקנים, סירים וקערות מהמאה ה-7 לפנה"ס.
