Summary
editDescriptionAbandoned MAV class 424 Locomotive @ Budapest Hungary.jpg |
English: I can't tell you how awesome this place is.. Its an old railway shed that as you can see is basically falling down and inside are loads of old steam trains and carriages. although i researched it before my visit it is still an amazing feeling walking around inside amongst these old relics. I took loads of photo's so if you like this sort of thing i will post some more soon so come back in a week or two and there will be some more. I darkened the roof a bit in this shot as the light was quite strong. You can see where it is located from the map..
Quite a few parts have been cannibalized from this Loco.. Although it is situated next door to a modern facility that services and repairs newer railway locomotives the people that worked there didn't hassle me about being there but i guess it won't be there for ever so if you want to visit i would guess you have a year or two to go there... This Locomotive is i believe a MAV class 424. Weighing around 137 tonnes, Hungary produced 514 of these massive machines and they were used widely across Europe. |
