Hij heeft uit de oorlogsbuit gestolen die uitsluitend bestemd was voor God. De buit heeft hij begraven in zijn tent. Dit is een schending van het zevende Gebod: "Gij zult niet stelen". Op de achtergrond Achans straf: hij wordt samen met zijn familie gestenigd en hun lijken worden door de Israëlieten verbrand. De prent heeft een Latijns onderschrift. De prentserie beeldt de Tien Geboden uit door middel van scènes van het Oude Testament.
