English: NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (July, 13, 2022) Rear Adm. Douglas Sasse, Reserve Vice Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, departs the Uruguay navy tall ship, Capitán Miranda following a luncheon and tour of the ship at Naval Station Mayport, Fla., July 13, 2022. Capitán Miranda is conducting its XXXII Training Trip and is visiting Naval Station Mayport, July 12-17. With 29 midshipmen onboard, this ship visit offers U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet a unique opportunity to build rapport with the future leaders of the Uruguay navy and strengthen friendship and cooperation between our navies. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet supports U.S. Southern Command’s joint and combined military operations by employing maritime forces in cooperative maritime security operations to maintain access, enhance interoperability, and build enduring partnerships in order to enhance regional security and promote peace, stability and prosperity in the Caribbean, Central and South American region.
