editDescriptionAdvertising at Tottenham Green - 1.jpg |
English: 8 October 2011. Large gaudy advertising signs displayed on the windows of CHENEL the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London.
Like many other businesses in Tottenham, the college had turned this building, in Town Hall Approach Road, into a billboard to market its products to prospective customers. The former College of North East London (CONEL) merged in 2009 with Enfield College. According to its website, this made CHENEL: "one of the largest colleges for further education in the United Kingdom. The website also describes it as "a College for the future of the Upper Lea Valley – a College that will meet the needs of our learners, local communities and employers." ___________________________ § Click to compare and contrast another business on Tottenham Green using its windows for ads. § The CHENEL website. § The building in 2007 - minus advertising signs. § Aerial view of where this photo was taken. § Click here for the original (largest) size. You'll see that passers-by have serious expressions. While the people in the blown-up photos all seem to be smiling. Or perhaps they practising saying: "Chenel". § Aerial view of where this photo was taken. § Links last checked and corrected on 2 October 2014. Please let me know if you find errors, |
